Have you stopped rushing yet?

We were talking about ditching the to-do list last week … and I was met with shock and horror!

“I can’t do without my list!” people cried.

Has it become a security blanket for you? To delude yourself into thinking you’re actually getting things done?

Hmm!

So if you’re not able to chuck it out, sit down with yourself and ask WHY you are resisting dealing with it. If it’s purely a temporal thing - like you can’t plan a trip till you get dates from someone else - put it in your calendar for a date ahead, say a month or two months, and wait for it to pop up there, and that gets it out of your hair for now.

It stops you worrying about it every time you look at your pesky to-do list - and will save much time and even more stress. Just picture that list without those items there - the ones that always get you in the gut and make you doubt yourself! Supposing your list comprised only the things you WANT to do and that you are ABLE to do in the next few days.

Wouldn’t your heart feel lighter?

Gotta-do list?

And I want to come back to what I said last week about how there were things I always felt I HAD TO DO.

Do you say that?

Do you say,

👉 I HAVE to do the laundry

👉 I HAVE to collect my kids

👉 I HAVE to get this essay in

👉 I HAVE to complete this task for work …

Well, here’s another secret for you: you don’t have to do anything.

Wha’????

No, you don’t.

Does anyone have a gun to your head? Course not!

Fact is, it’s something you WANT to do!

👉 You want to have clean clothes

👉 You want to get your children safely home

👉 You want to finish that essay in time so you can qualify

👉 You want to do well at work to keep your job and/or get promotion

It’s all a matter of choice.

❤️ You chose to be clean.

❤️ You chose to have children.

❤️ You chose to follow a path of study.

❤️ You chose the career you have.

Can you imagine the stress you’ll off-load when you STOP saying “I have to”?

Change it to “I want to”or even “I get to”!

You are the author of your life.

You are the one who decides what happens.

There is no Obergruppenführer telling you what to do OR ELSE!

It’s you.

You choose,

And YOU do or don’t do.

Whichever suits your purpose.

So now, are you going to re-adjust your life to survive without a to-do list?

Think of the freedom!

And are you going to change the words you say, so that you don’t feel put upon by the very things you have CHOSEN to do?

It’s certainly something I work on with clients in my coaching programs. Getting your life and business to fit in with you - rather than being a slave-driver! - is vital to making a success of it.

Here’s what one student had to say:

“I felt lost and overwhelmed before I began the program. Now I have clearer plans and problem-solving strategies.”

In my Dog Trainer Business Program, alongside a thorough grounding in the tech and systems you need to succeed -  coaching helps students build up their confidence, banish impostor syndrome, and get out there and pursue their passion!

Here’s what another student had to say,

“I have learnt so much from this program which has given me confidence to push my business forward.”

So if you think the time is right to beat your to-do list into submission and change the way you look at things, give me a shout at www.beverleycourtney.com/chat and tell me what it is you really want to do.

Whether you are building a dog training business or any other business, developing the confidence to offer your services to others - then finding a way to offer this service - is essential whatever your chosen area of work.

You owe it to yourself to spend your one precious life doing what you truly want to do and have NO-ONE badgering you to do stuff you don’t want to do!

Let’s hear what you’re planning now!
