Look what I found!

Do you know Martha Graham? She was an influential dancer and teacher. She will have most certainly seen plenty of people (possibly including herself) who doubted themselves.

They doubted that they had anything special to offer the world.

They thought perhaps what they did “wasn’t good enough” …

Sounding familiar yet?

Yep. We all suffer from these self-doubts.

And you know what will happen if you listen to them, and give in to them?

NOTHING

Nothing will happen! Your gifts will never be seen! Your impact on the world will be zero.

And all because you’re listening to that silly voice in your head which is - simply - wrong!

Here’s what Martha said, and I’d really like you to consider her words carefully. You don’t have to be a dancer, an artist, to create something new.

Whatever it is that you are good at, and want to teach others about, is your “unique expression”.

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly and to keep the channel open."

– Martha Graham, Martha: The Life and Work of Martha Graham
