Did you know that everything you need is already there?

We believe we are limited by the world around us.

We believe that we have been short-changed!

Everyone else seems to have what they need - and we don’t! And you know what? If that’s what you believe, that’s just how you’ll stay.

Short.

You see, we all start out much the same. Yes, I know some have silver spoons in their mouths when they’re born, and some are lucky to get anything in their mouths at all. But even from these huge divides amazing achievements are made!

There are so many rags-to-riches stories, so many of the people we look up to today who have fought their way up from nowhere. Think of all the people who left school at 16 or earlier - Richard Branson, Alan Sugar, Walt Disney

Some of the most influential people of our era dropped out of college - Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Daniel Ek. And look at the father of the motor car, Henry Ford - he never went to school at all! And what about the people who are now famous who came from the most humble beginnings?

  •  Sarah Jessica Parker’s family couldn’t afford electricity.

  • JK Rowling was a single mother on benefits, suffering from depression.

  • Roman Abramovich was a Moscow orphan.

  • Oprah Winfrey ran away from poverty and abuse at the age of 13.

  • Steve Jobs was adopted out as his parents couldn’t afford to keep him.

  • Charlie Chaplin was on the streets at age 10.

They had so little but what they did have was determination!

They knew they were going to get no help from the system, the world they lived in, their families.

But they had a desire, and they knew the only way to achieve what they wanted was to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

And DO IT.

So who are we to say

  • I come from a poor family

  • I left school early

  • I didn’t have a great education,

and all the rest? I’m sure you can think of people you know who started out badly and have made the best of themselves? They don’t have to be rich and famous but they DO need to be following their star!

So what do you think you need to change in your way of thinking to be able to see that you CAN DO what you dearly want to do? I think it’s a question of seeing what incredible opportunities there are all around us!

When we look at things differently, we see things differently.

We don’t need anyone’s permission to start doing what we really want to do, to follow our calling. Yes, there are some professions that are closed unless you have the necessary qualifications: you’d want your surgeon to be qualified, wouldn’t you?😅

And your lawyer … 🙄

But there are plenty of things you can do which require only talent, enthusiasm, a willingness to work and to do what it takes.

Push through those doors that you think are closed! If you absolutely HAVE to have a qualification, go and get it!

It’s only money and you can always earn money. Money is all around us - you just need to put yourself in its path and get what you need. The world is full of opportunity but we need VISION to see where our opportunity lies!

This is why I love working as a Transition Coach - helping people truly see their vision!

Are you clear on your vision?

It’s not something we’re encouraged to think about. People who come out with great ideas are often told to get back in their box! Did Walt Disney and Oprah Winfrey get back in their boxes?

NO!

They did what they could with what they had, and stayed open to catch all the opportunities that came their way.

They’re made of stern stuff! They had nothing behind them so they only looked forward.

Many of us come from a cushier background and it’s very easy to just accept that level of comfort, say, “one day I’ll … do that thing” and stay there.

Do you WANT to stay there?

Would you perhaps like a bit of help in moving on from there?  Talk to me.
