How to actually get things done

This is what I promised you last week!

We mostly have the best of intentions.

❤️ We decide this is the moment we’re going to get help … then we forget the appointment.

❤️ We decide that now is the time to earn money from our idea … then realise that we haven’t any money to invest to get started.

❤️ We decide to watch a lecture or webinar … then forget about it till the link has expired.

It’s a lack of organisation that holds so many people back - but I want to give you a kickstart!

And here’s my simple, easypeasy, hot tip for getting yourself organised so you never miss out on opportunities again. Every evening write down what you have to do the next day.

Told you it’s simple!

A scrap of paper, back of an envelope, app on your phone - whatever you like.

Put down what you’re going to achieve the next day. And ONLY what you’re sure you’re going to achieve. You don't want to put down your entire year-long to-do list that's never going to happen! You're only going to put down just what you can do the next day. And that way you've got a chance of achieving what you've written down!

Take a little time on this to make sure you're being realistic. It's a sure path to disappointment if you set yourself a mammoth list of tasks and then fail to do 90% of them.

So be kind to yourself.

Be realistic

Only put on your list what you know you can fit in tomorrow - and don't forget to allow for

•   driving time

•   lunchtime

•   washing time

•   collecting the kids time

•  making the dinner time …

Keep it real!

This is hardly a revolutionary idea! But it works.

It’s one of the key things my Brilliant Family Dog Trainer Business Program clients work on - to realise that setting realistic goals is what will make them happen. You may think this a simplistic approach, but I can tell you that I’ve seen - time and time again - that people who adopt this practice suddenly increase their output dramatically!

You have to trust yourself, and know yourself enough to know just what you can do.

And writing it down, allocating space to the item so you can tick it off when you’ve done it, is the way you’ll actually be able to work through all the necessary tasks so you can get your plan moving - faster than you had imagined.

A friend of mine ran the music in a large organisation. He would make a music list for the month then totally ignore it. So people would turn up in the hope of hearing a favourite piece of music only to be disappointed.

He said that he didn't want to be held to something that was written down on a piece of paper. It was only when he reflected that it was he who had written it down that he started to keep to his music list and stop disappointing everyone!

How crazy is that?

Our minds do work in strange ways …

So tell me: are you going to carry on putting everything off, indefinitely?

Or are you going to give this system a try? Do get back to me and tell me how this worked for you!

I want to hear how you actually got done the things you’ve been putting off for … months? Years? Ever?

So I’m going to look forward to hearing from you - that you’ve had success even if you only get ONE thing done! This is the way you’ll be able to feel triumphant!

And you know what? You’ll know you deserve it.

At last!
