Find your beauty!
Yep - you’re beautiful!
It’s official.
When you were born, did your parents not think you were beautiful?
What about all those oohs and aahs over the pram?
Think of watching toddlers toddle about. Are they not beautiful?
And teenage girls and boys, who mostly think they look terrible because they don’t conform to the current fashionable norm, look fresh and lovely to us older folk - simply by virtue of their youth!
Perhaps you got married - surely your partner thought you beautiful, at least then, if not still?
“But I’m not beautiful”
Most of us think this.
So tell me: at what age did you suddenly become not-beautiful?
And what made you think that the beautiful baby, the fresh and youthful teenager, the gorgeous bride or groom, had disappeared and given way to something unattractive?
Could it be, by any chance, that beastly voice in your head?
You know, the one that’s been carping on at you for ages, telling you you’re not good enough?
Have you been listening to nonsense all these years?
Because nonsense is what it is!
Social influences
If you’ve been following the famous, or immersing yourself in social media, perhaps it’s time to step back and deal with real people? Swallowing a diet of press releases and glamour shots that the subjects decide to publish is going to skew your judgement.
Think of the people who genuinely improve our lives. Do you judge them by their looks alone?
Course not!
So … don’t do it to yourself either.
And join us in Creativity Central where we talk a lot about this - and how to change it!
