What have you achieved so far?

I want you to focus on your good points,

Yes - you have good points! We all have good points.

Sometimes they get a bit buried In the hustle and bustle of daily life, but they are there - and you want to be sure to give them expression as often as you can.

It’s your good points that make you of value to the world.

I’m often told by people who feel lost that they have nothing to offer, Nothing to give.

Oh no! Nothing could be further from the truth.

We all have something to offer.

So I want you to look back at your life so far and see the things you have achieved and … I can hear some of you thinking “I’ve achieved nothing” and you KNOW that’s not true!

Maybe you haven’t done the things you thought you might when you were young and full of optimism.

Maybe you’ve been focussing on rearing the next generation, helping someone else with their project, and now you want to breathe life into a project of your own.

Whatever you’ve been doing all these years you’ve done something!

Do you see where you may be short-changing yourself?

Your’e going to start recognising your own worth from now on! And recognising your achievements so far is essential to being able to have more achievements in the future.

Attractive?

False modesty is not attractive!

Telling yourself you haven’t earned your place in the world is not attractive.

What IS attractive is someone who knows their purpose! Aomeone who has a plan - a short-term plan or a long-term plan - but a plan of what they’re going to do with this one precious life of theirs.

We can’t be all things to all men. but we can find what WE are good at and fill our little corner of the world with joy!

This is why I LOVE working as a Transition Coach - I see people realising that they can move from a negative way of thinking into a positive one, with the enormous results this brings! There can be a tendency to down-play what we’re good at - back to that false modesty I mentioned. It serves no-one!

Hiding your light under a proverbial bushel does not help you and it does not help the people you’re here to serve - the people you can teach, who you can show a better way, the people who can benefit from your skills.

Fear

Often we hold ourselves back through fear.

🥵 Fear of the unknown

🥵 Fear of looking foolish

🥵 Fear of failure

And also, perversely!

🥵 Fear of success!

Do you know that hackneyed mnemonic for Fear?

“False Evidence Appearing Real”

So often our fears are groundless. We’re born with TWO fears - just TWO!

Fear of falling and fear of loud noises.

They use those in the APGAR tests for newborns to check their neurological responses.

🥵 Fear of falling

🥵 Fear of loud noises

That’s all!

ALL the other fears we have made up ourselves! And something we made up is holding us back from being fully ourselves and bringing to the world what only we can provide.

How daft is that?!

And isn’t this just what students in my Brilliant Family Dog Trainer Business Program are finding? That accommodating their fears, their feelings of inadequacy, their Impostor Syndrome - is not helping the owners and dogs they are committed to helping!

So it’s time to put aside those fears those fears that we’ve made up!

And start putting yourself out there.

No-one will ever know what you can do what gifts you have until you show them.

Talk to me if you’d like to really crack this one NOW!
