Clear the space for Creativity!

I have to confess that I used to sit waiting for inspiration.

I was busy all the time, doing this, doing that … and I expected the muse to appear, tap me on the shoulder, and say, “Excuse me, but were you wanting a shaft of light?”

And there are no prizes for guessing that that didn’t happen!

Why?

Because to create, you have to be in a place of receptivity.

As successful authors will tell you, to get anything written you have to put your bum in the seat! Wafting around talking to trees (and anyone else who will listen) while you toss ideas around is simply not going to produce a finished work of art.

You have to get in the flow

And to get into that wonderful feeling of FLOW, to feel the creativity rushing through you, you need to surrender.

That doesn’t mean surrender as in giving up!

No - it means allowing yourself to be the vehicle of the creativity that wants to get out!

There’s nothing better than watching mesmerised as the ideas pour through you and onto the page - of your notebook, your blog page, your course program - wherever it is you are wanting to create something new and exciting.

Do you get in the flow?

Does this make sense to you?

Do you know what I mean by “getting in the flow”?

If you do, you’ll know how wonderful it feels and if you don’t, you have a rare treat ahead of you! How are you going to arrange things so that you can visit that place again and again, and really produce something worthwhile?

Don’t hide your light under a bushel! Show your gifts to the world.

.. and that means knuckling down and doing the work!
