Is self-care selfish?
Do you find yourself always putting others first?
This m-a-a-a-y not be quite what was intended when you were brought up to be kind and thoughtful.
Being kind and thoughtful is ACE! Of course! We all want to make the world a better place for us being in it.
But that has to include being kind and thoughtful to yourself too.
If your kindness and generosity does not extend to yourself, there is an imbalance. This is not going to make you lovesome and attractive! There is a danger of it making you sour and resentful instead.
OOF!
That’s absolutely not what you want!
You don’t have to be selfish to care for yourself.
For some people, being the big I AM, the one everyone turns to and depends upon, can become their persona. They can think that they have to be subservient to everyone else’s needs in order to earn their place in the world.
But NOOOOO!
Think of the instructions on the airplane, to put your own oxygen mask on first! You’re no use to anyone if you’re exhausted, drained, stretched out.
You need to look to your own self-care FIRST.
And that’s not selfishness!
Or is it?
What do you think?
Are you the person everyone turns to for help and answers?
Is putting your own needs up front a selfish or an unselfish act?
